Cytochemical studies on the embryonic development of Drosophila melanogaster; alkaline and acid phosphatases.

چکیده
* I HE distribution of phosphatases during the embryonic development of X Drosophila melanogaster Meig. was chosen as the next object of study for three main reasons: (i) a satisfactory technique for the demonstration of phosphatase (at least in the case of alkaline phosphatase) is available-, (2) the possible significance of phosphatases during embryogenesis is indicated by the work of Moog (1944); and (3) the Drosophila embryo provides favourable material for a study of the relation between the phosphatases on one hand and growth and differentiation on the other, since a dissociation of these two morphogenetic processes is evident (Yao, 1950).

Concentration dependent effect of morphine, aspirin, capsaicin and chili pepper hydro alcoholic extract on thermal and chemical pain model in fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster)
Introduction: Pain research using animal models is related to ethical concerns, so invertebrates and insects have been recommended by researchers. In the present study, the nociceptive and antinociceptive effects of capsaicin, aspirin, morphine and chili extract were examined using fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) as an alternative for rodent pain model. Methods: Stage 3 of larvae and ad...
متن کاملAconitase and Developmental EndPointsasEarly IndicatorsofCellularToxicity Induced by Xenobiotics in Drosophila Melanogaster
Background: In this study, the toxicity of the different xenobiotics was tested on the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster model system. Methods: Fly larvae were raised on food supplemented with xenobioticsat different concentrations (sodium nitroprusside (0.1-1.5 mM), S-nitrosoglutathione (0.5-4 mM), and potassium ferrocyanide (1 mM)). Emergence of flies, food intake by larvae, and pupation h...
متن کاملHistone Protein Transition in Drosophila Melanogaster
Employing cytochemical methods it was found that during the early embryonic development of Drosophila melanogaster the nuclei contain in sequence two kinds of chromosomal proteins. The cleavage nuclei (as also the pronuclei), until shortly before the blastoderm stage, contain an atypical (or juvenile) histone, stainable with bromophenol blue but not with alkaline fast green. The typical fast gr...
متن کاملToxicological Evaluation of a New Lepidopteran Insecticide, Flubendiamide, in Non-Target Drosophila melanogaster Meigen (Diptera: Drosophilidae)
Background: Flubendiamide, comparatively a new pesticide designed to eradicate lepidopteran insect pests is known to have low risk to birds, mammals, fish, algae, honey bees, non-target arthropods, earthworms, soil macro- and micro-organisms, non-target plants as well as sewage treatment organisms; however, the risk assessment for aquatic invertebrates from metabolite could not be finalized wit...
متن کاملThe localization of alkaline phosphatase during the post-embryonic development of Drosophila melanogaster.
IN the previous communication (Yao, 1949ft), alkaline phosphatase has been shown to be in some way connected with histo-differentiation during Drosophila embryogenesis. The post-embryonic development of Drosophila includes, besides a period of larval growth, the phenomenon of metamorphosis which involves the destruction of most larval organs and the simultaneous development of imaginal organs f...
